What is Equine Touch?
Equine Touch is a non-invasive holistic rebalancing of the horse’s physical and emotional well-being. Equine Touch is defined as ‘a non-diagnostic, non-invasive, hands-on system of bodywork addressing the whole horse with an organized series of unique, gentle, vibrational moves over soft tissue.’ The Equine Touch was founded and developed by Jock and Ivana Ruddock. The Equine Touch came into being in 1997 when Jock Ruddock transposed his human bodywork modality (Vibromuscular Harmonisation Technique) on to horses. The equine modality developed as he was joined by his veterinary trained wife Ivana.
• Induce deep relaxation • Release hypertonic and traumatised muscles • Encourage muscle tone recovery from injury and atrophy • Reduce the pain spiral • Assist in detoxification and lymphatic drainage During an Equine Touch session the horse appears to rebalance physically and emotionally. Each horse takes what they require from the Equine Touch moves allowing them to tune in to their own innate healing power, so allowing it to work at its maximum potential. Each session consists of a series of gentle moves performed over specific points of the body in predetermined patterns, which are interspersed with waiting periods to allow the horse to recognise and process the effects of these subtle moves. Equine Touch is an effective modality in its own right but is also compatible with acupuncture, homeopathy, Bach flower remedies, aromatherapy oils and chiropractic work. Equine Touch is not a therapy or a treatment. The Equine Touch is not designed or intended in any way in whole or in part to be a substitute for orthodox allopathic veterinary practice. If in doubt contact your vet. |
